Erik Larson is an author, most recently of The Splendid and the Vile: A Saga of Churchill, Family, and Defiance During the Blitz. His other national best-sellers include Dead Wake, In the Garden of Beasts, Thunderstruck, Isaac’s Storm, and The Devil in the White City, a National Book Award finalist and Edgar Award winner for fact-crime writing. Larson has been a staff writer for The Wall Street Journal and a contributing writer for TIME magazine; his stories have appeared in The New Yorker, The Atlantic Monthly, and Harper’s, among other publications. He has also taught nonfiction writing at San Francisco State University, the Johns Hopkins Writing Seminars, University of Oregon, and Chuckanut Writers Conference.
