Evan Thomas
Mortenson Endowed Chair in Global Engineering, University of Colorado at Boulder
Evan Thomas is the Mortenson Endowed Chair in Global Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he also directs the Mortenson Center in Global Engineering and Resilience, Global Engineering Residential Academic Program, and CU Boulder Climate Innovation Collaboratory. There, Thomas is a professor in the civil, environmental, and architectural engineering department as well as the aerospace engineering sciences department. Previously, he founded SweetSense, whose satellite-connected sensors monitor drinking water services across east Africa. Prior to this, Thomas was CEO of DelAgua Health, providing millions of people in Rwanda with cookstoves and water filters. He is a member of the NASA and USAID SERVIR Applied Sciences Team, Millennium Water Alliance board, and co-chair of ASME Engineering for Global Development Research Committee.
