Fred Humphries

Fred Humphries is corporate vice president of US government affairs for Microsoft, the company’s chief public policy advocate internally and externally on all aspects of federal, state, and civic affairs. In his current role since 2009, he joined Microsoft in 2000 as managing director of state government affairs. Humphries was previously vice president and executive director of public policy at Qwest, a senior policy advisor for former US House minority leader Richard Gephardt, and assistant director of congressional affairs for the American Medical Association, among other positions. He has a JD from Temple University School of Law. Humphries’s board service includes the National Institute of Health Children’s Inn and Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies.
