Frederica Wilson is a Democratic member of the US House of Representatives, representing Florida’s 24th Congressional District. She serves on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee as well as the Education and Labor Committee, where she chairs the Subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Investment and is a member of the Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education. Wilson is a member of the Congressional HBCU Caucus and Congressional Black Caucus. Previously, she was a member of the Florida Senate, and before that, the Florida House of Representatives. Earlier in her career, Wilson was a Miami-Dade County School Board member and elementary school principal. She is the founder and chair of the US Commission on the Social Status of Black Men and Boys and the Florida Ports Caucus.
