George Miller

George Miller is a former US representative (D) for northern California who served from 1975 to 2015. A member and chair of the House Environment and Education and Labor committees, his legislative legacy includes the Affordable Care Act, No Child Left Behind, and the Central Valley Projects Improvement Act. Since retiring, Miller has continued to work as a senior policy advisor to the CEO of Cengage Learning. He’s a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences’ Lincoln Project: Excellence and Access in Public Higher Education; co-chair of the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Early Childhood Initiative; on the board of Higher Learning Advocates; and a trustee of The Century Foundation.
