Gernot Wagner is a climate economist at Columbia Business School, where he is also a senior lecturer and faculty director of the Climate Knowledge Initiative. Wagner’s research, teaching and writing focus on climate risks and climate policy. Previously, he taught at NYU and Harvard. Prior to this, Wagner was a lead senior economist and leadership council member at Environmental Defense Fund. He is the author of five books, including “Climate Shock,” “City, Country, Climate” and “Geoengineering: The Gamble.” Wagner writes a monthly column for Project Syndicate and contributes to The New York Times, The Washington Post and other publications. He is a member of the New York City Panel on Climate Change and a board member of CarbonPlan.org.
