Gwynne Shotwell
President, COO and Member, Board of Directors, SpaceX
Gwynne Shotwell is president, COO and a director of SpaceX. She joined the space-transportation company in 2002 as vice president of business development and built the Falcon vehicle family manifest to more than 100 launches. Previously, Shotwell worked at the Aerospace Corporation for 10 years, holding positions in space systems engineering, technology and project management and being promoted to chief engineer of a satellite program, among other achievements. She has served on the U.S. Export-Import Bank Advisory Committee and the FAA Management Advisory Council. A fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Shotwell’s honors include the AIAA Goddard Astronautics Award, American Society of Mechanical Engineers’ Ralph Coats Roe Medal, Fortune’s list of the World’s 50 Greatest Leaders in 2018 and Forbes’ Power Women list in 2017.
