Heidi Binko is co-founder and executive director of the Just Transition Fund, responsible for the design and overall strategic direction of the organization whose mission is to create economic opportunity for workers hardest hit by the transition away from coal. With over 17 years of philanthropic experience on climate, coal, and energy issues, Binko was previously associate director for special climate initiatives at Rockefeller Family Fund, where she helped develop and grow the Institute of Energy Economics and Financial Analysis. Prior to that, she was executive director of the WestWind Foundation, a family foundation based in Virginia. Binko previously co-chaired the board of the Environmental Grantmakers Association and the Climate and Energy Funders Group, a project of the Biodiversity Funders Group.
