Ingrid Irigoyen is associate director for ocean and climate for the Aspen Institute Energy and Environment Program, where she works on projects on coastal sustainability and decarbonization of the ocean economy, and advises and facilitates services for partners collaborating to address ocean and coastal challenges. As director of the Shipping Decarbonization Initiative, she leads a project to harness the buying power of major cargo owners to accelerate decarbonization in container shipping. Previously, Irigoyen was a senior mediator and program manager at Meridian Institute, a nonprofit consultancy that drives action to address global challenges. Prior to that, among other positions, she was a John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellow with the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
