Jacob Sherman is a professor and chair of the department of philosophy and religion at the California Institute of Integral Studies, where he also chairs the graduate program in philosophy, cosmology and consciousness. He was previously a university lecturer in philosophy and religion at University of Cambridge, where he earned his doctorate in philosophical theology, and taught at King’s College London. Sherman is the author of “Partakers of the Divine: Contemplation and the Practice of Philosophy” and co-editor of “The Participatory Turn: Spirituality, Mysticism, Religious Studies.” He is working on a new manuscript entitled “The Book of Nature: Philosophy, Theology, and the Ecological Imagination.”
