James Ijames is a playwright, director, and educator. He is an associate professor of theater at Villanova University and co-artistic director at the Wilma Theater in Philadelphia. Ijames’s play, Fat Ham, won the 2022 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Other notable works include Kill Move Paradise, TJ Loves Sally 4 Ever, and The Most Spectacularly Lamentable Trial of Miz Martha Washington. Ijames has also been honored with the Steinberg Prize in 2020, the 2019 Kesselring Honorable Mention Prize for Kill Move Paradise, the Whiting Award for Drama in 2017, a Pew Fellowship in the Arts for Playwriting in 2015, and the 2015 Terrance McNally New Play Award for White, among others.
