Jamshyd Godrej is chairman of the board of Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company Limited, based in India. A mechanical engineer, he became a director in his family’s company in 1974, managing director in 1991, and chair in 2000. Godrej is chairman and co-founding trustee of the Ananta Centre, part of the Aspen Institute network, and chairs the boards of the Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation, India Resources Trust, the Council on Energy, Environment & Water, and the CII Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre. His service also includes the World Resources Institute, the World Wide Fund for Nature of India, and the Asia Society (USA). He is a past president of the Confederation of Indian Industry and of the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association.
