Jared Polis is the governor of Colorado, elected in 2018. His administration’s priorities include affordable housing, transportation and 100% renewable energy by 2040. Previously, he was a U.S. representative (D-CO) from 2009 to 2019. Prior to this, Polis was an elected member of the Colorado State Board of Education from 2001 to 2007. Earlier in his career, he co-founded TechStars, investing in early stage entrepreneurs. Polis is the founder of the Jared Polis Foundation, which issues annual teacher-recognition awards and donates computers to schools and nonprofit organizations.
