Jeff Leach

Jeff Leach is the founder of the Human Food Project, an organization that seeks to raise awareness about changes in human ecology that have given rise to diseases of the modern world. He is also a visiting research Fellow within the Department of Twin Research and Genetic Epidemiology at King’s College London and co-founder of American Gut, an open-source, crowdfunded microbiome project. An internationally recognized microbiome researcher, Leach’s research focuses on human-microbe interactions among rural and hunter-gatherer populations in Africa. He is the author of Honor Thy Symbionts and Rewild, a collection of essays about the Human Food Project.
