Journalist; Host, “1A,” NPR

Jenn White is the host of “1A,” a WAMU/NPR national show and podcast. An award-winning journalist, podcast host, and public speaker, she has worked in public radio since 1999. White joined “1A” in 2020 from Chicago’s WBEZ, where she held several on-air positions, including host of the station’s two-hour midday show, “Reset with Jenn White,” and before that host of “The Morning Shift.” During that time she hosted podcasts including “Making Oprah,” “Making Obama” and “16 Shots,” which chronicled the fatal police shooting of Laquan McDonald and trial of Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke. Before WBEZ, White was the local host of “All Things Considered” at Michigan Radio. Her first radio job was in fundraising at WUOM in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
