Jim Steyer is the founder and CEO of Common Sense Media, a nonpartisan organization dedicated to improving media and technology choices for kids and families. He is also a faculty member at Stanford University, where he has taught for 26 years. Prior to Common Sense Media, Steyer was chairman and CEO of JP Kids educational children’s media company. Previously, he was the founder and president of Children Now, an advocacy and media organization for children. Steyer is the author of Talking Back to Facebook, The Other Parent: The Inside Story of the Media's Effect on Our Children, and Which Side of History: How Technology is Reshaping Democracy and Our Lives.
