Jimmie Briggs is a documentary storyteller, writer, and advocate for racial and gender equity. He is a member of the New York City Gender Equity Commission. He is a co-founder and executive director emeritus of Man Up Campaign, a globally focused organization to activate youth to stop violence against women and girls. Author of Innocents Lost: When Child Soldiers Go to War, Briggs holds a Medal of Distinction from Barnard College. He has served as an adjunct professor of investigative journalism at the New School for Social Research and was a George A. Miller Visiting Professor in the Department of African and African-American Studies at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana.
