J.J. MacNab is a Research Fellow at George Washington University’s Program on Extremism. An expert on violent political extremism with a special emphasis on sovereign citizens, private paramilitary groups, and related anti-government organizations, she has testified before the US Senate and other agencies on subjects ranging from the growth of extremist groups, violent trends, and the recruitment tactics used to attract new members. MacNab writes a column on extremism at Forbes and is the author of the forthcoming book, The Seditionists: Inside the Explosive World of Anti-Government Extremism in America. She also works as a consultant and expert for federal, state, and local regulatory and law enforcement agencies.
