Joe Manchin III
U.S. Senator (I-WV)
Joe Manchin is a U.S. senator from West Virginia. Elected to this office in 2010 as a Democrat, he changed his affiliation to independent in 2024. In the Senate, Manchin chairs the Energy and Natural Resources Committee and is a member of the appropriations, armed services, and veterans' affairs committees. Previously in West Virginia, he was governor from 2005 to 2010 and, before that, secretary of state from 2001 to 2005. Prior to this, Manchin was a founder and president of Enersystems, a coal brokerage company.
