John Micklethwait
Editor in Chief, Bloomberg
John Micklethwait is editor in chief of Bloomberg, overseeing editorial content across all its platforms as well as its research services, including Bloomberg Intelligence. Previously, he was editor in chief of The Economist, which he joined in 1987 as a finance correspondent, becoming business editor and US editor before serving as editor in chief from 2006 to 2015. Micklethwait began his career in banking at Chase Manhattan in London. He is the co-author of six books, most recently The Fourth Revolution: The Global Race to Reinvent the State. In 2010, he was named Editors’ Editor by the British Society of Magazine Editors. Micklethwait is a trustee of the British Museum.
