Jon Fortt is co-anchor of CNBC’s “Squawk Alley” and contributes to CNBC.com. Previously, he was an on-air editor in CNBC’s headquarters and a technology correspondent in the Silicon Valley bureau. He came to CNBC from Fortune magazine, where as a senior writer he covered large technology companies and trends. Previously, Fortt was a senior editor at Business 2.0 magazine. From 1999 to 2006, he worked at the San Jose Mercury News, contributing to efforts that won awards from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers. He wrote about personal technology, covered education, edited local news, developed technology strategy, and was the newspaper’s senior Web editor. Fortt hosts a podcast, “Fortt Knox.”
