Joseph Briggs is a senior economist in global investment research at Goldman Sachs, where he co-leads the global economics research team. Prior to this, he worked on the U.S. economics team for three years at the firm. Previously, Briggs was a senior economist at the Federal Reserve Board, briefing the governors on economic and financial developments, leading construction of distributional financial accounts, and conducting research published in academic journals including Journal of Political Economy and Journal of Financial Economics. Earlier in his career, he was an economist with Vanguard Research Initiative and taught at John Hopkins University and New York University.
