Josh Earnest is assistant to the president and press secretary in the White House Office of Communications. The voice of “West Wing Week” online video series produced by the White House chronicling the president’s weekly activities, he previously was principal deputy White House press secretary and chief of staff to Jay Carney, deputy press secretary under Robert Gibbs, and communications director for the Presidential Inaugural Committee. During the 2008 general election, Earnest served as the Obama’s deputy communications director, a top communications aide in several primary contests including South Carolina, Texas, and Pennsylvania. He was then-Senator Obama’s Iowa communications director during his presidential campaign in March 2007.
