Joshua Johnson is the anchor of “The Week with Joshua Johnson” on MSNBC. He breaks down each week’s biggest news stories with newsmakers, journalists, politicians, and viewers, going beyond the headlines to provide analysis and critical context. Previously, he was the founding host of NPR's “1A.” Prior to this, Johnson helped launch a news partnership between Miami’s NPR station, WLRN, and the Miami Herald. He also was the morning newscaster for five years at KQED in San Francisco, where he hosted “Truth be Told,” a nationwide public radio series exploring race in America. Johnson has taught podcasting at the University of California Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism and is active in the National Association of Black Journalists.
