Joy Crump is a chef and restaurateur. In 2017, she and business partner Beth Black opened the microbrewery 6 Bears & A Goat, adding it to a restaurant group that includes Mercantile, opened in 2014, and FOODE, opened in 2011, all in Fredericksburg, VA. A culinary graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta in the field of culinary arts, Crump honed her skill alongside Atlanta farm-to-table pioneering chefs Michael Tuohy and Kevin Gillepsie. Crump has had the honor of cooking at the James Beard House in 2016 and 2017 and is actively involved in the James Beard Foundation. She appeared on season twelve of “Top Chef.”
