Kate Brandt is chief sustainability officer at Google, where she partners with data centers, real estate, supply chain, and product teams to ensure the company is capitalizing on opportunities to strategically advance sustainability. From 2014 to 2015, she was the nation’s first chief sustainability officer, responsible for promoting sustainability across federal government operations. Prior to that White House role, Brandt held several senior roles in the federal government, including senior advisor at the Department of Energy, director for energy and environment in the White House Office of Presidential Personnel, and energy advisor to the secretary of the Navy. Brandt serves on the boards of EVgo, BSR, The Institute at Brown for Environment and Society, and the Corporate Eco Forum.
