
Kate Crawford is a visiting professor at MIT’s Center for Civic Media, principal researcher at Microsoft Research, and senior fellow at NYU’s Information Law Institute. She is published widely on the social impacts of big data, and is currently writing a book on data, ethics, and power for Yale University Press. She serves on advisory boards at the Open Society Foundation and New Museum’s art and technology incubator NEW INC. Crawford was?a Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio fellow in 2013. She is on the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Data-Driven Development, and is co-director of the Council for Big Data, Ethics and Society.
