Kate Julian is a senior editor at The Atlantic, where she oversees the magazine’s Dispatches section. She is also the author of the December 2018 cover story, “The Sex Recession,” which was one of The Atlantic's most-read pieces of 2018. Prior to joining The Atlantic, Julian was the deputy editor of The Washington Post’s Sunday Outlook section and the managing editor of The New Yorker. She has also worked at Slate and Lingua Franca.
