Kevin Hassett is chairman of the US Council of Economic Advisers, confirmed in September 2017. He was previously an economist at the American Enterprise Institute since 1997, serving as the James Q. Wilson Chair in American Culture and Politics, director of research for domestic policy, director of economic policy studies, and resident scholar. Prior to joining AEI, Hassett was a senior economist at the Federal Reserve System Board of Governors and a professor of economics and finance at Columbia University Graduate School of Business. He has also been a visiting professor at New York University Law School, a consultant to the US Treasury Department, and an advisor to presidential campaigns.
