Kevin Washington is president and CEO of YMCA of the USA, a 22 million-member nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Since 2015, he’s been guiding the Y’s next phase, maximizing its capacity to address critical social issues in communities nationwide. The Y has been a fixture in Washington’s life since participating in an afterschool program at Christian Street YMCA in south Philadelphia at age ten. In 1978, he started as a youth program director there, then held roles of increasing responsibility with the Chicago and Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCAs. Washington was later COO for YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago and led the Boston and Hartford Ys.
