Kris Bowers is a composer, pianist and filmmaker. He is also the co-founder, with his wife Briana Henry, of Et Al Studio Productions. Bowers’ recent films include, “The Last Repair Shop,” winner of the short documentary award at the Critics Choice Documentary Awards; “A Concerto Is a Conversation,” a New York Times Op-Doc; and “Anthem,” in which he starred, produced and scored. Bowers is also known for his piano playing, creating compositions that pay homage to his classical and jazz roots. He has composed music for films, television, documentaries and video games and collaborated with musicians and artists across genres, including Kobe Bryant, Mahershala Ali, Ava DuVernay and Shonda Rhimes. Bowers’ recognition includes Academy, Grammy and Black Reel awards.
