Kristen Bennett

Kristen Bennett is chief strategy officer and interim co-CEO for Service Year Alliance, responsible for formulating and ensuring execution of the organization’s strategy to make a service year a common expectation and opportunity. Prior to this role, she spent six years leading the development and implementation of ServiceYear.org. Bennett was previously an AmeriCorps program officer with California Volunteers, the state’s service commission, where she evaluated AmeriCorps grant applications, helped develop Governor’s Initiative AmeriCorps programs, and trained, assessed, and monitored an $8.5 million portfolio of programs. She started her service career with AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America), serving on former California First Lady Maria Shriver’s WE Connect campaign connecting low-income families with programs and resources.
