Larissa May is the founder and executive director of #HalfTheStory, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering the next generation’s healthy relationship with social media. A youth-led organization, it is dedicated to education about and mitigation of the harms associated with social media and tech use. Its Social Media U program teaches digital metacognition and emotional regulation skills while empowering young people to understand and advocate for their digital well-being. May has been featured in Time, Forbes, Refinery29, and Good Morning America, among other media outlets. Her recognition includes being named to Mozilla Foundation’s Rise 25 list of the top 25 innovators in the world.
