Larry Bucshon

Larry Bucshon (R-IN) represents the Eighth District of Indiana and is a senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, where he is vice chair of the Health Subcommittee and member of the Energy, Climate, and Grid Security Subcommittee and the Innovation, Data, and Commerce Subcommittee. A cardiothoracic surgeon and vice chair of the House GOP Doctors Caucus, Bucshon has been a champion in Congress for patient-centered health care reforms that support innovation and access to high-quality, affordable, and timely care, while ensuring that patients and doctors have the freedom to make their own health care decisions. Previously, in his private practice, Bucshon performed hundreds of heart surgeries, was president of Ohio Valley HeartCare, and was chief of cardiothoracic surgery and medical director of the open-heart recovery intensive care unit at St. Mary’s Hospital (now Ascension St. Vincent).
