Larry Merlo is president and CEO of CVS Health, a retail pharmacy and health care company. Under his leadership, the company in 2014 was the first major retail pharmacy chain to eliminate tobacco sales, subsequently changing its name to CVS Health. A pharmacist by education, Merlo joined CVS Pharmacy in 1990 through the company’s acquisition of Peoples Drug. Prior to assuming his current role in 2011, he held positions of increasing responsibility, most recently president of CVS Pharmacy. Merlo serves on the National Association of Chain Drug Stores board, the University of Pittsburgh Board of Trustees, the Consumer Goods Forum Board, and the Business Roundtable Executive Committee.
