Laura Trujillo is a public relations specialist and former journalist. She is the author of the USA Today article, “Stepping Back from the Edge: My Mom’s Suicide Changed Everything. Here’s How I Found Hope Again.” Trujillo is working on a book for Random House about her mother’s suicide and herself. Currently a senior public relations manager for Fifth Third Bank, she was previously news director for The Cincinnati Enquirer, deputy managing editor of features and entertainment for The Arizona Republic, and a reporter at The (Portland) Oregonian. She and fellow USA Today journalists won first place in the National Headline Awards for the Surviving Suicide project.
