Leslie Greene Bowman

President, Thomas Jefferson Foundation, Monticello

Leslie Greene Bowman is president of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation at Monticello, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where she spearheads its vision to bring history forward into today’s dialogues, emphasizing civic engagement, race, and slavery’s legacies. Previously, Bowman was director of the Winterthur Museum, director of the National Museum of Wildlife Art, and held increasing positions of responsibility at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She served under four presidents on the Committee for the Preservation of the White House and has been an accreditation commissioner for the American Association of Museums, trustee of the Association of Art Museum Directors, and trustee of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
