Mallory Loflin is a research scientist and principal investigator in the Veterans Affairs San Diego Healthcare System and an assistant professor of psychiatry at University of California, San Diego. Her research focuses on understanding cannabis, both as a plant containing multiple potential therapeutic agents and as a substance of abuse. Loflin is the primary investigator for the first cannabinoid clinical trial ever funded by the US Department of Veterans Affairs, which investigates the therapeutic potential of oral cannabidiol as an adjunctive treatment to exposure therapy in PTSD treatment. In addition to her peer-reviewed publications, Loflin’s research is regularly featured in the popular press and nationally syndicated radio and podcasts.
