Manish Bapna is president and CEO of Natural Resources Defense Council, which works to ensure the rights of all people to clear air, clean water, and healthy and equitable communities. Previously, he was executive vice president and managing director of World Resources Institute, a global research organization focused on the environment and development. Prior to this, Bapna was executive director of the Bank Information Center, promoting social and environmental standards at financial institutions including the World Bank, where he was formerly a senior economist. He has testified before Congress and been cited in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and International Herald Tribune, among other media outlets. Bapna is a member of China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development, board member of Meridian Institute, and an Open Government Partnership ambassador.
