Margot Lee Shetterly is a writer, researcher, and entrepreneur who authored the No. 1 New York Times best-seller Hidden Figures: The American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians Who Helped Win the Space Race. The book was a TIME magazine and Publisher’s Weekly top book for 2016, and in 2017 it won Best Nonfiction book at the NAACP Image Awards and Best Book at the National Academies of Sciences Communication Awards. Shetterly executive produced the film adaptation of Hidden Figures, and her research has been supported by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Founder of The Human Computer Project, she previously worked in investment banking and media start-ups.
