Mark Chambers is vice president of partnerships at Elemental Excelerator, scaling climate technologies with community impact. Prior to this, he was senior director for building emissions and community resilience at the White House Council on Environmental Quality from 2021 to 2023. Previously, Chambers was director of sustainability for Washington, D.C., and then New York City, where he led efforts to accelerate climate policy implementation. A public speaker on climate change, resilient design and environmental justice, his work has appeared in Politico, Grist and Architectural Record, among other publications. Chambers is a board member of Second Nature and International Living Future Institute. HIs honors include the Smithsonian National Design Director's Award and Public Architect Award from American Institute of Architects.
