Mark McClellan

Mark McClellan is a professor and director of the Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy at Duke University. A doctor and economist, he was previously a senior economic studies fellow at Brookings Institution. McClellan is a former FDA commissioner and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services administrator. He served on the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, was senior health care policy director at the White House, and was deputy assistant secretary for economic policy at the Treasury Department. McClellan is founding chair of the Reagan-Udall Foundation for the FDA, co-chairs the Health Care Payment Learning and Action Network’s guiding committee, and is a research associate at National Bureau of Economic Research.
