Mark Preston is executive editor for CNN Politics, reporting on campaigns, polling, and politics across CNN, CNN International, and CNN.com. He is the on-air Decision Desk analyst for CNN’s election coverage and leads the conception and execution of the network’s political events, including the seven prime-time presidential debates and twelve town halls of the 2016 primary election season. Preston joined CNN in 2005 as political editor and has received several honors, including Emmys in 2006 and 2012 for the network’s election-night coverage. He played a key role in CNN’s Peabody Award-winning coverage of the 2008 presidential primary debates and campaigns. Preston previously was a senior staff writer at Roll Call.
