Mark Smolinski is president of Ending Pandemics, which works with global partners to find, verify, and respond to outbreaks faster. He was previously chief medical officer and director of global health at the Skoll Global Threats Fund, where he developed the Ending Pandemics in Our Lifetime Initiative, which branched out as an independent entity in 2018. Smolinski’s past positions include director of the Predict and Prevent Initiative at Google.org, vice president for biological programs at the Nuclear Threat Initiative, study director at the National Academy of Medicine, and advisor to the World Health Organization and the US surgeon general.
