Matt Haggman is chief strategic initiatives officer at Right to Start, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization aiming to expand entrepreneurial opportunity for all. Prior to this, he was executive vice president of Miami-Dade Beacon Council. In this role, Haggman led Opportunity Miami, an initiative focused on imagining and building the Miami of 2040, spearheading the effort to build Miami's climate-tech ecosystem, and establish communitywide talent-development goals. Previously, he was Miami director at the Knight Foundation and created a program to advance the city’s growing tech community. Earlier in his career, Haggman was a journalist at the Miami Herald, where his honors included a Gerald Loeb Award.
