Megan Cunningham is managing deputy commissioner of the Chicago Department of Public Health. Through the implementation of Healthy Chicago 2.0, the citywide plan to promote health equity, she works across sectors to further affordable and supportive housing, food access, environmental justice, and community spaces that are safe and active. Within CDPH, she also supports workforce development and transformation efforts to become a more anti-racist organization. Cunningham was previously senior director of operations/COO for HHC ACO, an accountable care organization serving patients of New York City’s public hospital system, and staff attorney at Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers. She started her career teaching sixth-grade language arts in Newark, NJ.
