Michael McLoughlin

Michael McLoughlin is chief engineer of research and exploratory development at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. He leads DARPA’s Revolutionizing Prosthetics Program to develop, integrate, and transition brain computer interfaces for transformative applications, and he is leading efforts to transition use of modular prosthetic limbs to meet the needs of amputees and those with spinal cord injuries or other causes of paralysis. He also teaches engineering management in the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering. McLoughlin has held several positions at Johns Hopkins since 1995. He was program manager for biological countermeasures at the US Department of Homeland Security from 2004 to 2006.
