Michael Middleton

Michael Middleton is interim president of the University of Missouri and professor emeritus at MU School of Law, which he joined in 1985. He was previously interim vice provost for minority affairs and faculty development, then deputy chancellor until his 2015 retirement. Prior to MU, Middleton was a federal government lawyer who held several positions within the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, including director of the St. Louis office and associate general counsel of the trial division. He has worked on civil rights issues in the Education Department, the former Health, Education, and Welfare Department, and as a trial attorney in the Justice Department.
