Michelle Patron

Michelle Patron is director of sustainability policy at Microsoft. From 2013 to 2015, she was special assistant to the president and senior energy and climate director at the National Security Council, leading such efforts as the US climate deal with China. Previously, Patron was senior director at the private energy research firm PIRA Energy Group. She also worked at the US Energy Department, Deutsche Bank, International Energy Agency, and Center for International Environmental Law; served as energy attache´ at the US embassy in Beijing; and taught at New York University. An expert commentator for multiple media organizations, Patron has written op-eds for Reuters, Foreign Affairs, Financial Times, and Los Angeles Times.
