Mike Byrne

Michael Byrne is a specialist executive at Deloitte, since 2019. He supports efforts to prepare for, respond to, and mitigate the consequences of disaster events. Prior to this, Byrne held positions at FEMA, including federal coordinating officer and federal disaster recovery coordinator in Puerto Rico, assistant administrator of the field operations directorate in Washington, D.C., and deputy regional administrator in the Greater New York City area. Previously, he was executive of the disaster division at the American Red Cross. Byrne was also senior vice president at ICF International and director of justice and public safety at Microsoft. Earlier in his career, he spent 20 years with the New York City Fire Department, where his duties ranged from hands-on firefighting to senior leadership and policy development.
